We just can't enjoy a good burger nowadays, without worrying about how much protein, fat or how many carbs we put on. This is especially important for people suffering from certain conditions. To help you figure out what you put inside yourself when eating, Macropedia lets you browse through thousands of foods and it lets you create your own macronutrient diet. The software lets you know about the protein, carbohydrate and fat percentages, so you can create a balanced diet. If you need to follow a nutritionist's recommendations, this piece of software will definitely come in useful.

Macropedia is free to try, without any noticeable restrictions. It comes in a small package and it can be installed in under a minute. You can use the software on any modern Windows system, without encountering any compatibility issues. Furthermore, you don't need to install any prerequisite tools or services and you don't need powerful hardware.

The software's functionality is incredibly easy to master. It presents a vast range of foods, in a list, directly on its user interface and all you have to do is select the ones you want to add to a diet and click a button to send them to a different list, on the same window. Macropedia shows foods from 25 food groups and it displays the amount of protein, carbs and fat for each item. Additionally, you can enable more columns, if you also want to see the sugar and fiber amounts.

When you add one or more foods to your list, the software will automatically calculate the protein, carbohydrate and fat percentages for the diet you have made up. You can find numbers for each food, as well as total numbers, for the entire diet. Also, the percentages are displayed as a colored bar, to help you visualize how much protein, carb or fat you will have. By default, the application makes its calculations of 100 grams of each food type, but you can change that amount if you need to.

You can choose from thousands of foods to create a diet. Of course, the software provides you with a search function, so you can locate specific foods faster. It is also possible to sort the foods by the amount of protein, carbs and fat and by different diet types, which can make your job easier. Furthermore, you can focus on or filter out certain food types, like cereals, dairy products and so on, so you can create a good diet even for people with allergies.

If your doctor has recommended a ketogenic diet for you or someone else, Macropedia will help you figure out what foods to include in that diet quickly and easily.

Pros

You can create a diet, with specific protein, carb and fat percentages. The software is quite accurate and it can make calculations for different amounts of food. It lets you work with over 8000 foods, from 25 groups.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to address.
